SONG REVIEW TIME TO TALK

Image
TIME TO TALK  Today we are going to talk about one of our favorite songs, Time to talk , by the singer David Owen, born in Newcastle, but currently living in Sabadell with his family. A curiosity of this singer is that he always dresses in black and also speaks Catalan very well and without an English accent. Time to talk is the first song of the album “Confined but not resigned”, which in total contains 20 songs. This song is the introduction of the album, which means that it has to catch the listener’s attention. He achieves it fully, simply captivating with his voice, starting softly and increasing the intensity little by little. It is not a catchy song, but if you like to listen to other registers and different accents than the ones we are used to, you will enjoy listening to him. If we focus on the lyrics, it talks about the importance of talking about things, rediscovering ourselves, and focusing on the little things...

FILM REVIEW FATHER, SOLDIER, SON

Image
FILM REVIEW  FATHER, SOLDIER, SON Father, Soldier, Son is a documentary film that tells the story of Brian Eisch, an American Army sergeant who has two sons and is deployed to Afghanistan. The film focuses on the effects this deployment has on both the sons and the family itself. Directed and produced by Catrin Einhorn and Leslye Davis. The film opens with a speech by Barack Obama announcing that he is sending more troops to Afghanistan which helps the viewer to get some context but one of the strong points of the film is in the statements of the sons Isaac and Joey who understand why their father has to go fight in Afghanistan but they are also afraid of what might happen, the reality of having a father in the army and that as a child you are aware of things other children may not be. It is a film that makes you reflect and is good in the sense of being able to understand what is like ...

It was a very long match and was not decided until the penalty shootout. The penalty that decided the end of the match was Martina Terré stooping a shot from the opponent. VOTE FOR THE BEST PHOTO / STORY

FIFTH PUBLICATION Hello readers Today it’s time to vote on one of the many stories written by our colleagues. We give our vote to the story with the picture of the three missing girls after a Disney Party written by Laia and Alba. The photo they use helps us to put ourselves in context and to have a clear idea of the ages of the girls. We had a good time reading and thinking about how we would act if something similar ever happened to us, taking in account that this time it is a fictional story, but unfortunately in real life, there are still some kidnappings. It is also a good moment to publicly denounce that violence is never an option. Secondly, this story makes us think about how lucky we are to have people who love us and that if something happens to us, they know about it and are there for us. The importance of taking care of those we have next to us and try to be as kind as possi...

Crime Under Investigation in Vic The other day, in a street near the church of Vic, there was a crime. In the afternoon, this street was very quiet, and there was almost no one in it. The atmosphere was cold and ghostly. This cold and lonely atmosphere took a turn during the night when a crime was perpetuated. The next day the city of Vic, also known as "la Ciutat dels Sants" woke up anxious and with a lot of commotion. The victim of the murder was a young boy, a neighbor of the city who studied, went to university... In fact, he was a normal boy. The people of the city were trying to understand how this could have happened, as journalists from the different television networks arrived to cover the event. The police also moved quickly to the scene and started to make the first notes on how the crime had been perpetrated and with what weapon.  In order to keep the public calm, the police informed the neighbors that they will place security guards on the street where the vict...

Writing Blog 3

BLOG WRITING 3  After a short discussion with my partner, we decided to give our vote to “Unexpected news for Toni Cruanyes,” written by our classmates Laia and Mar. It makes the best of the lot because it’s an original story that definitely keeps your attention and makes you think about the profession of journalism and that one day you may have to cover a situation where there is someone you know that is affected. This story, although it is false, makes you think about how we should do our job in the correct way and how to have the right emotional point when we are explaining a fact. Although we never do it, we should have a clear idea of how we would act if something similar to Toni Cruanyes happened to us.  The journalist doesn’t think twice, leaves the live connection, and goes to take care of his son. Sometimes you have to know how to prioritize what is important and what is not. In conclusion, it’s important to know tha...
